Inaugural ADATE Welcome Address by Associate Professor Hala Zreiqat
|
It gives me great pleasure to see such strong support for the
establishment of the inaugural ADATE. I
consider myself extremely privileged to be part of this University
where new ideas are encouraged and fostered. When
I first spoke to Prof Nick Hunt at the Bosch institute about my idea
for establishing a multidisciplinary network he generously offered to
provide any help I might need, and this of course was a great support.
So thank you Nick. I would like to particularly thank Prof Hancock the Dean of Engineering for all his
support not only in this venture but in my time here. Special thanks to Prof
Robinson (Dean of Medicine) for his generous support towards this
day.
None of this would have been possible without the generous financial
support of all the sponsors, I might add that I did not have to work
hard to gain their support.
I would like to give a warm welcome to my overseas visitors Profs
Ellis Behnke (from MIT and Veronique Migonney from Paris who despite
their busy schedules made the trip to Sydney just for this event. For that I thank you. Also to our presenters a
heartfelt thank to each and everyone of you.
I certainly hope that this day
will be the
stepping stone to a proactive and productive interaction between all of
us here
to further this ADATE.
