Conference Venue

The conference venue is The University of Sydney's Carslaw Building, situated near the northern end of the footbridge crossing City Road from the Wentworth Building. Bus services run along City Road (adjacent to Carslaw) and Parramatta Road (on the other side of the campus). There is a train service from Redfern Station which is less than 15 minutes' walk away in the daytime; free security buses run between Fisher Library and Redfern Station in the evening.

The Venue Collection is located within the impressive grounds of the University of Sydney, a subtle amalgam of century old sandstone and contemporary architecture set on 72 hectares of immaculate landscaped parklands. Just minutes from downtown Sydney, the University is well serviced by bus routes from the city and is a short taxi ride from Central Station.

The Venue Collection offers an array of venues with capacities suitable for both intimate and large scale events, ranging from elegant heritage dining rooms to innovative and contemporary venues, featuring state of the art audio visual equipment. A number of rooms are available all year round, whilst others are available during out of session periods only.

Each venue offers a variety of room types and uses. The Chancellor’s Room in the Holme Building seats 18 for dinner; 500 delegates can be seated theatre style in the Verbrugghen Concert Hall within the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (located off campus near the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Sydney Opera House); and the Terrace Buffet in the Wentworth Building caters to 1,200 for cocktails. The Terrace Buffet also provides the largest exhibition space of 960sqm.
